Vice President of Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Canada Visits BUCM

 

On July 7, 2016, Dr. Salvador Ferreras, Vice President of the Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), Canada and Mr. Stuart McIlmoyle, Associate Vice President of the KPU International visited BUCM. President Xu Anlong received the guests.

 

Dr. Salvador Ferreras and President Xu discussed the possibility of initiating the first dual degree joint program in public universities in North America. In addition, they exchanged views on the co-establishment of a TCM research center by BUCM and University of British Columbia, a prestigious public university in Canada. The center plans to carry out joint research on Canadian local herbs and aboriginal, traditional materia medica and Chinese materia medica and joint clinical research into Chinese medicine and biomedicine.

 

 

KPU is a comprehensive university in British Columbia, Canada that confers bachelor’s degree and various kinds of diplomas and certificates. The university now offers a 2-year degree program of acupuncture and moxibustion. Students graduated with the degree are qualified  to take the Canadian  Acupuncturist Examination.
