On the afternoon of April 14, Professor Ali Mohamed Shams El Din, President of Benha University from Egypt, together with the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Beijing, visited Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. They were received by Professor Wang Wei, Vice President of BUCM.

Wang Wei extended his warm welcome to Ali Shams’ delegation, made an introduction to  the development, international education, research collaboration and medical service of BUCM, and expressed his hope that the two sides can carry out exchange and cooperation in the field of traditional medicine. President Ali Shams noted the long tradition of TCM education of BUCM and its high reputation in the field of TCM higher education. Through the visit, he hoped the two universities can establish friendly relations and start cooperation in student exchange, joint programs and other areas.

Benha University is a key comprehensive university in Egypt directly under the leadership of Ministry of Higher Education of Egypt. Over the past five years, the university has been growing rapidly and is now ranked No. 4 among Egyptian universities.
