Singapore Health Delegation Visits BUCM
A delegation from Singapore Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board (TCMPB), headed by Chairperson Mrs. Yu-Foo Yee Shoon, paid a visit to BUCM on the afternoon of January 12th. The delegation was received by Vice President Wang Wei , BUCM. A friendly meeting was held between the two parties in terms of cultivation of professionals, continuing education and research of TCM.
Prof. Wang Wei firstly extended his warm welcome to the delegation and analyzed the prospects for TCM in education, health care, research and industry. Mrs. Yu-Foo Yee Shoon then said that with considerable international prestige, Chinese medicine has become an indispensable element in public health care in Singapore, where people of Chinese origin make up a large proportion of the whole population. She also pointed out that TCM institutions abroad lack efficient administration, sufficient teachers, great masters and effective quality control and evaluation system. She hoped that with the support from BUCM, more great masters would give lectures and take part in other forms of academic exchange in Singapore so that an increasing number of Singaporean TCM doctors will improve their clinical practice level from such exchange. She also looked forward to more collaboration between TCMPB and BUCM in the field of research and integrated medicine so as to develop Chinese medicine by interinfiltration and supplementation in related disciplines.
Prof.. Zhang Liping, Director of International Cooperation Department, Ms. Zhang Danying, Vice Director, and Prof. Wang Xueyong, Vice Director attended the meeting.
