On January 23, 2015, the International Moxibustion Standardization Forum, co-hosted by Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine International Exchange & Co-operation Centre was held in Beijing. More than 40 experts from Australia, Brazil, Italy, Japan, South Korea and China participated the Forum. Prof. Xu Anlong, President of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine，Mr. Li Zhenji, Vice-Chairman and Secretary General of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, Mr. Luo Zenggang, Deputy Director of Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Prof. Liu Baoyan, President of China Association of Acupuncture-Moxibustion attended the opening ceremony.

During the Forum，experts discussed the international standard of The General Requirements of Moxibustion Devices (ISO/DIS 18666), and the prospects of moxibustion standardization in the future. The Standard of General Requirements of Moxibustion Devices (ISO/DIS 18666), designed by China, was officially approved and incorporated in the working plan of ISO/TC249/WG4 in March 2013. The drafted working plan of this project passed the committee draft (CD) vote in May 2014, and is currently in the draft International Standard (DIS) stage.
