In late June 2026, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) marked its 70th anniversary with significant alumni events in Russia and Australia, enhancing its global network and promoting international exchanges in Chinese medicine (CM).

Russia Alumni Association launched

On June 30, BUCM's Russia Alumni Association was officially established via a virtual ceremony, marking the university's first alumni organization covering Russia and the CIS regions. The event was attended by BUCM Vice President Ding Xia, Alumni Association Secretary General Song Meng, and alumni from major Russian cities. Vice President Ding praised the alumni's contributions over the past two decades and emphasized the association's role as a crucial bridge for Sino-Russian healthcare exchanges. Newly elected President Huang Guorong outlined goals to unite Eurasian alumni and promote CM collaboration.

Australia Alumni Association celebrates in Sydney

On June 27, the Australia Alumni Association held a reunion and annual meeting in Sydney to celebrate BUCM's anniversary. The event, which included participation from Melbourne alumni online, featured a video tribute to the university and discussions on future initiatives. Association President Zhang Shengxi highlighted plans to support alumni development and promote CM in Australia. A lecture by alumna Dr. Yu Xiaomei on integrated treatments for endometriosis sparked lively discussions relevant to Australian healthcare needs.

These events demonstrate the strength and commitment of BUCM's international alumni. The Russia Alumni Association fills a strategic gap across Eurasia, while the Australia Association continues to advance CM's presence in Oceania. BUCM's global network remains dedicated to supporting alumni, the university, and society, contributing to the internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine.
