On June 27, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine's (BUCM) Kitzingen Hospital celebrated its 35th anniversary in Kitzingen, Germany. Attendees included Qiu Xuejun, consul general of China in Munich, Li Yu, Vice President of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, BUCM President Tang Zhishu, and officials from Bavaria and Upper Palatinate. Nearly 200 representatives from China and Germany's medical, business, and academic sectors gathered to discuss the future of international cooperation in Chinese medicine (CM).

Consul General Qiu highlighted CM as a crucial part of Chinese culture and a bridge for cross-cultural exchange. He praised the hospital and the China-Germany CM Center for enhancing mutual understanding and benefiting the German public. Klaus Holetschek, chairman of the CSU parliamentary group in the Bavarian Parliament, described the hospital as a milestone in medical exploration, emphasizing CM's unique efficacy in integrating Western and Eastern medicine. Franz Löffler, Upper Palatinate's administrative councilor, noted the hospital's contribution to the region's international reputation and economic growth.

BUCM President Tang Zhishu reflected on 35 years of fruitful collaborations in clinical treatment, education, and academic exchange. He pledged to enhance the hospital's international influence, making it a key platform for Sino-German medical cooperation.

As Germany's first officially licensed CM medical institution, the hospital has pioneered CM's integration into European healthcare since 1991. It achieved local operational success and inclusion in the local health insurance system, offering high-quality CM services. The celebration included the fourth China-Germany CM Forum, where experts discussed integrative medicine and CM's overseas standardization. The delegation also visited the Chinese Consulate in Munich, strengthening future cooperation in the pharmaceutical field.
