On June 18, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) celebrated its 2026 Graduation Ceremony at the Liangxiang Campus. The event was attended by university leaders, faculty representatives, alumni, department heads, clinical teaching hospital leaders, and the graduating class of 2026.

The ceremony commenced with the national flag raising, evoking a strong sense of patriotism and medical mission among attendees. Vice President Ding Xia announced the graduation decisions for undergraduates and postgraduates, alongside awards for outstanding graduates. Vice President Yan Zhenfan recognized graduates committed to grassroots services in regions like Xinjiang and Tibet.

Zhang Zhijie, a Ph.D. candidate from the Third Clinical Medical School, addressed the graduates, urging them to root themselves in clinical practice and strive for medical excellence, serving where the nation needs them most. Yan Yonghong, a professor and alumnus, encouraged graduates to pursue broad visions, hone practical skills, and maintain compassionate hearts.
Alumni representative Zheng Wei shared insights from his career, emphasizing passion, niche expertise, lifelong learning, and transitioning from a learner to an achiever mindset in the early career stages.

President Tang Zhishu inspired graduates with a speech titled "From Excellence to Greatness," encouraging them to integrate personal aspirations with national development, build strong professional foundations, and cultivate resilience and independence.
As the ceremony concluded with the moving song "Promise," graduates stood at the threshold of new beginnings. The tassel shift symbolized their transition from students to medical professionals, ready to embrace their roles in healthcare, research, and global advocacy for traditional Chinese medicine.
