On May 13, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) and Beijing Forestry University (BFU) signed a strategic cooperation agreement at Jiufeng Forest Farm. This partnership aims to leverage the forest farm as a practical base for deep collaboration in education and research integration. Key figures from both universities, including BUCM Party Secretary Wang Yaoqi and BFU Party Secretary Wang Tao, attended the ceremony.

Presidents Tang Zhishu of BUCM and Li Zhaohu of BFU signed the agreement, with secretaries Wang Yaoqi and Wang Tao witnessing the event, marking a new chapter in their collaboration.

Following the signing, the leaders inaugurated the "BUCM Practice Teaching Base," signifying the start of substantive cooperation. Secretary Wang Yaoqi highlighted the partnership as a continuation of the universities' long-standing relationship and a strategic move to align with national goals. She emphasized interdisciplinary collaboration between traditional Chinese medicine (CM) and forestry, focusing on the large-scale cultivation of authentic medicinal materials and innovations in education and industrialization.

BFU Party Secretary Wang Tao noted the long-anticipated collaboration, highlighting BFU's strengths in plant breeding and genomics, which align with BUCM's needs in medicinal material breeding and quality enhancement. He expressed hope for joint efforts in education, talent development, and industry collaboration.

BUCM President Tang Zhishu stressed the partnership as a strategic choice to serve national goals, leveraging complementary strengths for mutual benefit. He envisioned a synergistic effect in medicinal plant conservation and under-forest ecological planting.
