BUCM President Tang Zhishu meets with Turkmenistan Children's Charity Foundation vice chair

From April 15 to 17, Tang Zhishu, president of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM), visited Turkmenistan and met with Atabayeva, vice chair of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children's Charity Foundation. The visit included discussions on enhancing bilateral cooperation, especially in children's health and rehabilitation.

Vice Chair Atabayeva welcomed the delegation, congratulating President Tang on his Honorary Professor title and the inauguration of the "Traditional Medicine Classroom" at Myrat Garryyev State Medical University. She highlighted the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding between the university and BUCM, which aims to establish a China-Turkmenistan Traditional Medicine Center, elevating medical cooperation between the nations.

President Tang praised the foundation's extensive charitable efforts and expressed gratitude for the discussions on deepening collaboration. The talks centered on the application of traditional Chinese medicine in children's health and rehabilitation. The delegation also visited the Children's Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children's Charity Foundation, established by presidential decree, focuses on supporting orphans and children with disabilities through medical and educational programs. It collaborates with international organizations like UNICEF, playing a crucial role in Turkmenistan's child welfare.

During the visit, BUCM and the foundation agreed to integrate traditional Chinese medicine into local children's rehabilitation, aiming to expand cooperation in pediatric treatment and therapy. This partnership seeks to foster healthy growth for youth and strengthen China-Turkmenistan ties.
