On April 2, the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) School of Chinese Materia Medica celebrated the launch of its Alumni Association at the Liangxiang Campus. The event was attended by BUCM President Tang Zhishu, Vice President Ding Xia, over 20 distinguished alumni, university officials, and faculty members. Vice President Ding Xia chaired the meeting.

Fu Qian, Party secretary of the School of Chinese Materia Medica, provided an update on the school's development, highlighting achievements in Party building, talent cultivation, and scientific research. He also outlined future plans for enhancing innovative talent development and discipline construction.

Song Meng, secretary-general of the alumni association, announced its official approval and organizational structure. President Tang Zhishu presented the association's flag and issued appointment letters.

Alumni, including Chen Xiaohong, former deputy director of the former National Health and Family Planning Commission (now the National Health Commission) , and other notable figures, shared their experiences and discussed topics such as talent cultivation, industry-education integration, and the internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine.

Professor Ji Maozhi, representing the faculty, reflected on his teaching career and expressed pride in the achievements of alumni, encouraging them to maintain strong ties with the university.

In his closing remarks, President Tang emphasized that alumni are the university's most valuable ambassadors. He noted the association as a vital bridge for emotional and developmental connections, aiming to foster integrated development in education, technology, and talent.

The event concluded with the inauguration of the "Alumni Grove" and a tour of the School of Chinese Materia Medica. The new alumni association provides a platform for communication and development, enhancing the university's growth and alumni relations.
