BUCM and IAM launch collaborative project

On March 13, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) and the Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (IAM) under the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) signed an agreement to initiate the One Department, Six Institutes educational integration project. 

The ceremony was held at BUCM's Hepingjie campus, attended by key figures including Deputy Party Secretary of CACMS Yang Longhui, Director of the IAM Jing Xianghong, BUCM President Tang Zhishu and Vice-President Wang Ting.

The project aims to enhance collaboration in cultivating top-tier talent and fostering interdisciplinary innovation. President Tang emphasized that this initiative is a vital exploration of the Ministry of Education's reform to nurture outstanding innovative talent. It seeks to dismantle barriers and promote deep collaboration between the university and the research institute. Acupuncture is a leading discipline at BUCM, renowned for its global influence and professional training, while IAM represents the forefront of national research. This partnership offers a strategic opportunity to advance BUCM's acupuncture discipline, enhancing its capacity to cultivate innovative talent and support the field's growth.

Yang Longhui stated that the project aims to improve the quality of talent cultivation, fostering innovative Chinese medicine professionals. The long-standing collaboration between BUCM and CACMS in education, research, and healthcare provides a solid foundation for this initiative. The project will explore and implement a model for training top-notch acupuncture talent, essential for clinical and research needs, while promoting the discipline's development.

Wang Ting and Jing Xianghong signed the agreement, marking the project's official launch. The collaboration will focus on deep cooperation in talent cultivation.
