The National Institute of Chinese Medicine Development and Strategy at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine is a research institution specializing in Chinese medicine (CM), health and wellness, and traditional Chinese culture. Guided by the objective of serving the decision-making needs of the Party and the government, it focuses primarily on policy research and consulting. It is committed to developing into an innovative, open, and distinctive university-based think tank that promotes CM development and enhances the international influence of CM.
With the mission of “national strategy, global perspective, policy consultation and public opinion guidance”, the institute concentrates on research areas including CM development, primary healthcare, CM culture, economy, laws and regulations, international standardization of CM, CM pricing and medical insurance policy, CM evaluation, CM health industry, CM risk management, as well as health big data and artificial intelligence. At present, it comprises 13 research centers and has more than 60 think tank experts.
